Notes

ACD has been on holiday or attending a Starlink meeting most of this week, so there has been little progress on the MySpace Registry design.

The meeting discussed ACDs design notes published late last week and the replies thereto. General agreement was reached.

CLQ has started designing the class structure for the MySpace Server. So far a simple server using Tomcat / Axis has been produced but is not working or tested yet. CLQ has also been experimenting with the Cactus plugin for Support.Eclipse.

NAW raised the important point of security and the use of certificates in Iteration 2. It was generally felt that to be more than just a simple web service, AstroGrid should be seen to be using certificates, even if much of the implementation is defered to a later date. This is a wider issue than just MySpace and an action on KTN and NAW (see below) has been raised to address.

It was agreed that the main action for the coming week is the production of classes designs and the identification of dependencies on other work groups.

Actions

  • ACD/CLQ: Class design and dependency identification

  • ACD/CLQ: Complete development environment setup

  • KTN: Ensure everyone has latest TogetherSoft license

  • KTN:Check with Portal group progress and design of AstroPass

  • NAW: Raise the question of security certificates for Iteration 2
