Beta testers use existing system until Feb 11+ then switch to new deployments

A: Everything works
   Announce and use new systems
B: VOSpace broken
   Deploy MySpace into Reg V1.0 environment, minor changes to accommodate
C: Reg V1.0 upgrade broken, VOSpace OK
   Deploy VOSpace into Reg V0.10 environment
D: All broken
   Revert to existing system, de-emphasis use of MySpace

Other discussions

New ADQL/s parser: replaces version in existing DSA, or hold till after release?

• • Faster - probably not.
  • More correct.
  • Newer version of ADQL; but this may not help us because DSA will not support region.
  • Supports joins.
  • DEC allowed as operand name.
  • Doesn't match current query builder and DSA.
  • Can mend existing parser with patches from new one - this avoids disrupting DSA and QB.
  • JL and KEA to improve suite of test queries.

DSA registration: adopt VOSI.

• Supported in current registry.

VOSpace adopt VOSI (for new registration)

• Still need all metadata for v0.10 push registration.
• VOSpace installation can run more than one space; but these appear as separate endpoints => register separately.
• VOSpace needs to know its base IVORN.

VOSpace: may not be feasible to release VOSpace 1.1 before March

• So don't even try.
• Don't let any released function depend on this interface until 2008.2 or later.
• => no changes needed in AR (or comsuming services) w.r.t MySpace.
• If multiply communities, should we multiple MySpaces?
  • This would imply many updates for providers.
  • "Hey, free storage!"

Community

• Add an extra datum for 2nd home?
• Prob. too hard: means changing service contract
• Defer until RESTful contract started, i.e. after 2007.1
• 2nd home => VOSpace => security

Delegation

• Code can be made available for 2007.1; not sure if we want it yet.
• Needs AR changes to be useful => tricky.
• Prob. defer until 2007.2
• NB: VOSpace useless until this lands => big priority for 2007.2

Registry

• Important registries:

  • CDS
  • ~3 NVO
  • ESA
  • not ESO, for 2008.1; later
• Want new-style registry in support of metadata campaign
