Demo Telecon 20041203

present: KMB, GTR, PAH, AMSR, SD, NAW,

Solar Case

SD: We can not yet link the workflow to the SEC

SD: At the moment - you can query the trace database and ask for a time limited sample. the cript then feeds these files to the movie maker tool.

SD: You can query the SEC with an event number - and get the times back. but the scripting so far cannot extract thi stime info for input into the second part of the query which goes to trace.

GTR: Worries: insertion of extractions from a VOTable and putting this back into a query. Currently these ops are being carried out by low level coding - we'll need a higher level capability to manipulate the extracts from VOTables.

SD: Generate a longer movie - rather than the hour limit of now. Check to see what happens with two or three TRACE files.

Galactic Case

AMSR: an easier workflow if there was an observing log PAL.

GTR: could put up the observing log for the WFS - which one is needed.

AMSR - workthrough at DraftRunThrough - need the log that contains the headers in the example given in 3b.

GTR: looks like the DQC log would be most appropriate.

PAH: if you just use the SIAP service it is difficult to work out which runs are relevant.

AMSR: get files, then a SQL search

AMSR: 2mass needs to be the full PSC at the SSA.

Extragalactic case

EGLEZ: Sextractor: default.nnw - sextractor cannot find this file (default or user specified).

problems, if one wants to change a single parameter in a file, need to download, edit and upload the whole file.

PAH: to get round ths - can reference the parameter file at a http reference.

GTR: need to get file refs out of siap straight into sextractor.

PAH: this does work - and will mail a few examples.

EGLEZ - will provide a list of parameters which require adjustment.

PAH: will send the AVO demo workflow that shows the output of sextractor into the cross federator.

Other issues

NAW: dangers with having more than one user running in one account.

GTR: can more than one user view someone elses myspace?

PAH: thinks this is possible, but the browser will not allow this just now.

GTR: can move files around using ivorn's - the query builder can get files from outside.

ISSUE: what is a MySpace reference.

AMSR: how to delete files in myspace? can't do this yet?

GTR: urgently need to be able to delete whole directories.

NAW: there is no GUI control to create a directory.

GTR: for the demo - we'll need someone logged in directly to the server deleting files on the fly. (CLQ?)

PAH: may be able to put a command line command together to delete files and directories.

GTR: will put a CRITICAL bugzilla ticket in.

KMB: will raise a bug re the catalogue search in data centre - contains org.astrogrid gives the same returns as astrogrid.org

NAW: there don't seem to be many catalogues in the registry - KMB to check.

AMSR: can you save directly from myspace to a file without going through a browser. PAH: No.

GTR: the SWIRE data is available locally in IoA. A perl SIAP service is being written. Do this after the access to the DQC catalogues etc.

AGLI telecon 7 dec 2004

need to run these with VNC - and silvia, anita, eduardo, nic, paul need to be online running through the demos as they are to that date.
