AG@ROE consists of two networks: one managed by ITSupport and
MarkHolliman and part of the main
AstroGrid network, and a private, invitation-only network managed by
JohnTaylor. This network is for use of ROE,
AstroGrid, VOTech and
NeSC members only for the testing of new features.
Authority IDs
The following authIds are currently in use for ROE resources:
- test.wfau.roe.ac.uk For internal testing
- roe.ac.uk publishing ID for community
- wfau.roe.ac.uk for new apps
- harvestingregistry.roe.ac.uk for harvesting/query registry
- starlink.ac.uk managed on behalf of Mark Taylor for ex-Starlink software
- uq.au for resources hosted on behalf of the University of Queensland
WFAU
Any installed applications should be published under the wfau.roe.ac.uk or test.wfau.roe.ac.uk. The ivorn of the WFAU organisation is ivo://wfau.roe.ac.uk/WFAU

Note:
Things still to do
- Rationalise stuff on hempriggs - are we using any tomcat other than 8082,8083? If so, we need to open the ports/proxy them.
- The tomcat 4.1 on hempriggs:8080 can be retired MSH
- Settings and registry components of all components need to be reviewed and adjusted to reflect the new proxied URLs JDT/MSH
- Our publishing registry should be registered with Cambridge and (?) the RoR . JDT (waiting on RoR )
- Backup policy needs to be determined and implemented
- Component configurations should be version controlled. Thus we need a cvs client on all servers, and need to set up a repository somewhere (IT support can do this).
- Community data should be backed up automatically (already done, I think?)
- Publishing registry data should probably be backed up - there's not a lot of it, and we'd be grateful in the event of a disk failure
- MySpace metadata should be backed up. This is more problematic, since there could be a lot of it, and we will need to beg for some hardware to do it.
While 1,2,3 are for our benefit, 4 is for the benefit of our users...we should discuss with Bob whether we can get away with warning users that
MySpace is not guaranteed.
File locations
These are sensitive, so are recorded on the ROE wiki
http://apache.roe.ac.uk/twiki/bin/view/WFAU/AstroGridAtRoe (ROE LAN access only).
Test network
