Doppler velocity
Velocity measured from the Doppler shift of spectral lines. This is the velocity along the line of sight, orthogonal to
ProperMotion. It is usually given in km/s. The Doppler velocity can be inferred for e.g. stars which are too faint to take suitable spectra, but which are members of a cluster for which the Doppler velocity is known from brigher stars.
