The AstroGrid Phase A Report

The AstroGrid project is formally divided into two phases. The Phase A study recently completed and was reviewed by the GridSteeringCommittee on October 18th, as a result of which we now have the funds to begin the Phase B construction stage as of Jan 2003.

The Phase A Report (informally known as the RedBook) is a document summarising our work to date, and outlining our plans for Phase B. It is intended for several purposes :

  • as a formal proposal to PPARC Grid Steering Committee
  • for information for the astronomical community
  • to explain our work to other VO projects and e-science projects
  • to act as the Project Bible during Phase B
