Description
The registry is an Astrogrid service that provides the interface to all grid and web services available to Astrogrid. Such services may be dataset providers, data processors, or data storage providers. Services can register, deregister and update themselves using the SOAP protocol. Astrogrid users can use the registry to first obtain a list of available services and then get a WSDL (web services description language) description of the service's methods, input parameters, and output parameters. The Astrogrid registry will be fine-grained and will comply with the IVOA's future recommendations on IVO registry standards.

Description
The first iteration of the registry will implement 6 use cases: getRegistryMetaData (obtain metadata about a registry), listRegistryMF, listAllSerices, queryServices, getServiceMetadata, and getServiceM. Web services will communicate with the registry using the SOAP protocol. The registry will have a simple JSP front end in this iteration, and it will be implemented with Tomcat and Axis. Users will be able to find a list of available web services and view their wsdl descriptions.
