What SoapyBeans Means

  • Define the API of the service in the Java Interface / WSDL
    • Do not write unnecessary DOM code
  • Use Document style, literal encoding

What SoapyBeans Give us

  • Freedom from caring what the web service is doing
    • Concentrate effort on functionality
    • Easily replace web services with something better
    • More robust / maintainable code
    • Better Interoperability

The SoapyRecipes page shows how to create SoapyBeans using Axis, Castor and Maven

The SoapyBean approach was originally discussed as a forum thread

Soapy Beans Updated discusses patterns for versioned web services.
