In 1 hour we started the Workbench and used
AstroScope to find and display spectra and images in VOSpec and Aladin. Many people already use
TopCat. Other functions such as the ready-made parameterised workflows for making photometric redshifts etc. and the MERLIN Imager were briefly demonstrated.
Issues raised
- Astroscope
- Selection by wavelength and time as well as position
- Display of wavelength and time as well as spatial coordinates when data are returned
- As data providers may not give this information there needs to be some way of defaulting to 'all' in either domain.
- Want to select lightcurves for e.g. AGN variability, stars
- Does AGN Watch publish to VOs?
- Extra lightcurves sector along with images, catalogues, spectra?
- Can we provide Gaia as a compatible tool?
- Already under development!
- VOSpec
- Need to make it easier to see which segments correspond to which named spectra e.g. in order to remove unwanted spectra from the display.
