From the DfES point of view, the key aims are:

• Raise standards
• Address skills shortages
• Recruit into SET by:
  • Linking excitement of space activity with education sector
  • Adding major schools' initiative to existing small to modest ones

From the technological point of view, the goals are:

• To make use of the huge investment by the DTI in e-Science
• To make use of the AstroGrid infrastructure to deliver the programme
