These pages contain all information relevant to science verification for the UKIDSS Galactic Plane survey.

The following regions were observed during GPS Science Verification:

(1) A 1 tile wide strip across the plane at Dec=-1.9 at JHK. Some of these data are in SV1, some in SV2. A sky offset field at b=20 was also done at the same time as some of these observations, see http://surveys.roe.ac.uk/wsa/pre/gps.html for a plot of data currently in the archive at ROE (i.e. SV1) . One tile was also repeated in non-photometric conditions on 15 May.

(2) The M17 star forming region at JHK. In SV1.

(3) The Rho Ophiuchus star forming region at JHK+H2. In SV2.

(4) Some sky fields near b=20, in SV2. This was done in order to help assess the stability of the non-uniform background from the sky and contamination of the field lens.

(5) The Lagoon Nebula (M8) was also done during April comissioning, though not as part of GPS SV. This star forming region may be useful to us.

Technical feedback from Mike Irwin on 27 July.
