UseCase: BulkSpectralLineMeasures

PrimaryActor:

Researcher

EndResult:

Measurement of Equivalent Widths of selected lines of bulk selected candidates

OtherActors:

type here

PreConditions:

Pre-selected list of candidate objects for which sets of equivalent widths are needed.

FlowOfEvents:

  1. User selects a small subset of the objects and download appropriate spectra
  2. User examines spectra and selects parameters for spectral lines.
  3. User requests line measurements on full set of objects - to be done on remote server
  4. System locates spectra of as many of the objects as possible
  5. Line measurements are obtained for all spectra using appropriate parameters
  6. Lines measures plus other parameters are subjected to an array of statistical tests
  7. Correlation coefficients returned to the user
  8. User compares results with pre-computed models

PostCondition:

Extracted line measures are available for further analysis

BasicAssumptions:

type here

AlternativeFlows:

  1. Line measurement parameters may vary with catalogued parameter e.g. z
  2. Pre-selected objects could be done in collaboration with remote co-workers
